Egerton university
Egerton University—the oldest university in Kenya—is not only steeped in academic excellence, but also rich in history, heart, and hustle. Nestled in the scenic hills of Njoro, it’s the proud home of Lord Egerton Castle, a majestic structure built by Maurice Egerton, the fourth Baron Egerton of Tatton.
And while the castle still stands tall, so does the story behind it—when Lord Egerton built this grand monument in a bold attempt to impress the other gender. What followed became one of Kenya’s most iconic cases of being thoroughly ‘shown dust.’
But from that heartbreak rose resilience—and today, that spirit burns bright in the students of Egerton University and their formidable Global Fast Fit Club. With a legacy rooted in grit and growth, this club has become one of the most intense training grounds for GFF athletes, producing some of the fastest GFF scores and fiercest competitors.
More than just a fitness hub, the Egerton GFF Club is also a frontline player in the fight against lifestyle diseases. Through structured exercise routines, the club empowers students and the wider community to take charge of their health—preventing chronic conditions like obesity, diabetes, and hypertension before they take root.
Lord Egerton may have built a castle and got curved.
But the students he left behind?
They’re building legacies!
